TGFB1 and infection: This enables the NAT to deliver active pharmaceutical ingredients, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), antibiotics, and a variety of growth factors (e.g., fibroblast growth factor [FGF], vascular endothelial growth factor [VEGF], transforming growth factor-β [TGF-β], ephrins and epidermal growth factor [EGF]), during surgical procedures without placing foreign body materials which might delay the wound healing process or cause infections in the wound bed [39,40,41].
