Nuclear BRF1 immunoreactivity (Fig. 1a) was significantly upregulated in PCa (p = 0.0032) (Fig. S1a, Table S1) and in clinically significant disease (Gleason sum score = 7 and > 7: p = 0.0039 and 0.0091, respectively) (Fig. S1b, Table S2) when compared with BPH. This evidence concerns the gene BRF1 and posterior cortical atrophy.
