AZGP1 and neoplasm: As AZGP1 has been demonstrated to have anti-tumor activity and improved clinical outcome in cancer patients, we hypothesized its overexpression may portend improved patient survival [26,27]. Among our cohort cases with available survival data (Supplemental Table 1), we found that overexpression of AZGP1 significantly correlated to a longer RFS and that reduced expression correlated to a shorter RFS (p = 0.029); there were no recurrences in the AZGP-1 high group compared to nearly one-in-two recurrences in the AZGP1-low group, respectively (Table 1, Fig. 4d).
