In the present study, although we did not aim to compare the GNRI with other parameters with regard to predicting clinical outcomes, we also found that a lower GNRI score predicted an elevated risk of ESRD and the composite outcome of death and CV events, even after adjusting for DM, systolic blood pressure, baseline eGFR, overhydration, UPCR, and the IL-6 concentration. Here, IL6 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
