BMP‐2 is a widely studied and critical protein that is involved in a variety of biological phenomena, and its function may differ in osteogenic signalling, tumorigenesis, and vascular remodelling.39 In some cases, such as vascular calcification and atherosclerosis, BMP‐2 may have dual effects at various developmental phases.40 Meanwhile, though research on the involvement of KDM1A in vascular modulation is scarce in the literature, the interaction between KDM1A and BMP‐2 has been reported in several studies. This evidence concerns the gene BMP2 and atherosclerosis.
