The predicted target genes of the 12 DE miRNAs identified by three-group comparison were mainly enriched into the PI3K-Akt signaling, prostate cancer, HIF-1 signaling, hepatitis B, and alpha-linolenic acid metabolism pathways, which were evidenced to activate the transcription of genes related to angiogenesis, inflammation, energy metabolism, and cellular functions (25, 38, 39), indicating that these miRNAs play important roles in mediating the actions of gonadotrophins in the rabbit ovary. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is Familial prostate cancer.
