Immunohistochemistry using an antibody to human MCL-1 on a tissue microarray cohort of 228 pancreatic cancers (including 188 PDACs, 20 intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms with invasion and other mixed subtypes) from the APGI revealed a large proportion (94.7%) of PDACs and (90%) of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms with invasion expressed high levels of MCL-1 by IHC consistent with previous reports [28] (Supplementary Table 1 and Supplementary Fig. 1). The gene discussed is MCL1; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
