BCL2 and infection: P. chabaudi‐specific AMB also displayed high levels of the proapoptotic genes Bad, Bax, Fas, and Fasl, low level of the anti‐apoptotic gene Bcl2, and a transcriptome consistent with active replication and activation.49 In parallel, and in agreement with our previous data,48 a P. chabaudi‐specific classical memory B‐cell pool expressing different combinations of the mouse memory markers CD80, CD273, and CD73 together with high levels of Bcl2 developed and persisted long after resolution of the infection.
