Indeed, we observed a significant mebendazole-induced differentiation in two AML leukemia cell lines (HL-60 and THP-1) based on NBT staining, flow cytometric analysis of the myeloid marker CD11b and CD14, and Wright’s staining (Fig. 3e,f, Supplementary Fig. S3a–c). The gene discussed is CD14; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
