G protein‐coupled receptors comprise the largest superfamily of receptors involved in transmembrane‐initiated transduction pathways and can crosstalk (or transactivate) with EGFR, insulin/insulin‐like growth factor 1 receptors and other cell surface receptors41 to mediate the proliferation,42 angiogenesis,43 and metastasis44 of CRC. This evidence concerns the gene INS and colorectal carcinoma.
