A recently published study from our group found extracorporeal photophoresis (ECP) monotherapy to be an effective and well-tolerated systemic treatment for SS, with patients achieving an impressive median TTNT of 14 months, significantly exceeding that of other available systemic therapies, including interferon, HDAC inhibitors, chemotherapy, low-dose methotrexate and other immunomodulatory agents [15]. The gene discussed is HDAC9; the disease is synovial sarcoma.
