RANBP2 and neoplasm: Ran binding protein 2 (RANBP2) is another key regulator identified in this study which is involved in the SUMOylation of TopioisomeraseII− before the onset of anaphase, helping in separation of chromatids from the centromere and its under-expression, mutation or deficiency has been observed in various cancers specially lung cancer and myelomocytic leukemia acting as tumor suppressor genes57.
