Three novel signals (in 3p21.31 [near KIF15, Figure 2A], 7p22.3 [near MAD1L1, Figure 2B], and 8q24.12 [nearDEPTOR, Figure 2C])showed a genome-wide significant(P < 5 × 10−8)association with IPF susceptibility in the discovery meta-analysis and were alsosignificant after adjusting for multiple testing(P < 0.01) in the replication stage comprising1,467 IPF cases and 11,874 controls (Tables2 and E1). Here, KIF15 is linked to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
