The hypothesis of the existence of pituitary TSCs was further supported 5 years later by a study by Chen et al. (39) that isolated pituitary tumor cells that were grown as floating spheres in vitro, expressed the neural stem/progenitor cell markers CD133 and Nestin, and were able to generate daughter cells that could differentiate into three neural lineages (Tables 1, 2). Here, PROM1 is linked to pituitary tumor.
