In the non-classical CD14+CD16++ subset, the percentage of cells expressing CX3CR1 was significantly decreased in patients with mild (67 ± 4; p < 0.0001, moderate (74 ± 3.5; p = 0.003) or severe (74 ± 3.6; p = 0.003) asthma compared to healthy controls (85%) (Fig. 5a). The gene discussed is FCGR3A; the disease is asthma.
