Cells in the shNOTCH2 + LY294002 CNE-2 group showed similar levels of migration and invasion as cells in the Ctrl CNE-2 group but showed decreased migration and invasion compared with cells in the shNOTCH2 CNE-2 group (P < 0.05), suggesting that AKT inhibitors block the increased migration and metastasis of NOTCH2-suppressed NPC cells (Fig. 5e).
