The miRNA with the highest expression from the tested panel in both dry and wet AMD groups, miRNA-191-5p, was significantly correlated with almost all inflammatory factor concentrations [TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12 (p70), and GM-CSF] in these subjects, while no such correlations were found in controls. This evidence concerns the gene CSF2 and age-related macular degeneration.
