HMGB2 and posterior cortical atrophy: Data from the genotype-tissue expression (GTEx) project [104] indicates that, although both HMGB1 and HMGB2 are upregulated in PCa versus noncancerous cells, the relative increase is higher for HMGB2 (×1.5) than HMGB1 (×1.3); this could explain the increased expression of several of their targets, assuming that positive regulation caused by HMGB2 predominates over negative regulation caused by HMGB1 during the onset of PCa.
