YAP1 and cancer: YAP1 contributes to cancer development in different ways, including promoting malignant phenotypes, expanding cancer stem cells, and increasing the drug resistance of cancer cells.32 It was reported that high expression of nuclear YAP1 was associated with shorter survival outcome in patients with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).33 Silencing of YAP1 attenuates the malignant processes in NSCLC cells.34 However, to our knowledge, little is known about YAP1 in SCLC.
