PIK3CA amplifications were most prevalent in keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (KSC) patients (64.3%, 27/42, P = 0.015), followed by basaloid squamous cell carcinoma (BSC) (50%, 4/8) and nonkeratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (NKSC) (33.3%, 9/27). The gene discussed is PIK3CA; the disease is basaloid squamous cell carcinoma.
