Dutour et al. performed a randomised open-label study in which individuals with type 2 diabetes were treated with exenatide vs insulin and were assessed for HTGC after a standard meal and showed a 23.8 ± 9.5% relative reduction in HTGC for the exenatide group compared with a 12.5 ± 9.6% increase in the insulin group (p = 0.007) [17]. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
