Although further studies are warranted to determine whether these findings are consistent in patients with SH3BP2 mutations, previous reports suggest that cherubism may be associated with impaired osteoblast function and altered PTHrP‐PTHrP receptor interactions,23, 24 suggesting that an underlying disease mutation may contribute to accentuated changes in mineral ion homeostasis in some patients. Here, PTHLH is linked to cherubism.
