NAMPT and ovarian cancer: In their research, it was shown that increased NAD+ influences the inflammatory signaling of senescent cells in vivo in mouse models of pancreatic and ovarian cancers through the higher HMGAs and nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) expression, which promotes the proinflammatory SASP through NAD+-mediated suppression of AMPK kinase, leading to suppression of the p53-mediated inhibition of p38 MAPK and enhanced NF-κB activity [69].
