In agreement with extensive observations in healthy blood donors and different clinical settings, our results pointed out that HCMV infection is the leading factor that promotes the development of conventional adaptive NKG2C(+), FcRγ(–), and PLZF(–) CD56dim NK cells in MS patients (17–19, 22, 23). The gene discussed is ZBTB16; the disease is cytomegalovirus infection.
