One study on patients suffering from acute myeloid leukemia found a higher number of circulating Th17 in male healthy controls compared to females (54), another study on healthy adults found higher CD4+ Treg numbers in males compared to females (55); both studies support our findings in trauma patients, where males had both higher Th17 cell and CD4+ Treg percentages. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and acute myeloid leukemia.
