In line with previous findings, we found that PI3K/AKT signaling was down-regulated in Aβ42 induced AD mouse model, while MaR1 administration enhanced PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and promoted cell survival, indicating that the protective role of MaR1 is partly due to activation of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and Alzheimer disease.
