Additional evidence in the present study supporting the involvement of CXCR7 in epilepsy is the role of CXCR7 in regulating seizure susceptibility in the mouse model of epilepsy; downregulation of CXCR7 exerted an antiepileptic effect on SRSs, while CXCR7 overexpression resulted in a seizure-aggravating effect. This evidence concerns the gene ACKR3 and epilepsy.
