HFD-fed ATF3−/− mice showed increased body-fat percentage, serum triglyceride (TG) levels (Fig. 2b, c), glucose intolerance and insulin resistance (Fig. 2d, e), WAT and BAT depot weights (Fig. 2f), BAT whitening (Fig. 2g, Supplementary Fig. 1a), white-adipocyte cell size, diameter and perigonadal fat-pad weight (Fig. 2g, h), and liver lipid deposition (Fig. 2i, Supplementary Fig. 1b). This evidence concerns the gene ATF3 and Insulin resistance.
