NRF2 has recently been reported to promote cancer progression through metabolic reprogramming, apoptotic resistance, and metastasis promotion [11], further supporting our results that GSTZ1 deficiency promotes HCC proliferation and inhibition of the NRF2 pathway by NAC or Bru suppressed Gstz1−/− hepatoma cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo. The gene discussed is GSTZ1; the disease is cancer.
