Hindlimb glucose utilization rates were not different between IUGR and IUGR‐AR lambs (28.4 ± 2.9 and 28.6 ± 3.0 μmol min−1 kg−1, respectively), but hindlimb glucose utilization rates in both experimental groups were greater (P < 0.05) than control lambs (19.8 ± 2.5 μmol min−1 kg−1), regardless of the insulin infusion rate (Fig. 6A).
