In patients with invasive bacterial infection (n = 19 for whom sufficient serum was available), the CRP and PCT concentrations were very high: median CRP 233.9 mg/L; range: 10.2–459.6 mg/L and median PCT 10.9 μg/L; range: 0.03–787.9 μg/L [results checked]), especially in cases of bacterial meningitis or bacteremia. Here, CRP is linked to bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
