Exome sequencing identified numerous variants of unknown significance in genes known to be associated with periodic fever syndromes, namely two important autoinflammatory genes, MEFV and NLRP12. P369S and R408Q variants are found in exon 3 of the MEFV gene and appear to be in linkage disequilibrium [7]. The gene discussed is NLRP12; the disease is periodic fever syndrome.
