In psoriasis, IL-6 and IL-23 are proinflammatory cytokines secreted by activated dendritic cells and macrophages in response to pathogen components or damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) via TLRs and are able to induce dermal γδ T cell activation and expansion and Th17 cell differentiation, contributing to the initiation and maintenance of psoriasis4,8,21. Here, IL6 is linked to psoriasis.
