In recent years, randomized trials have further reported that EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have shown better progression-free survival (PFS), objective responses, and safety profiles than standard first-line platinum-based doublet chemotherapy in patients with positive EGFR-mutant NSCLC, such that EGFR-TKIs have become the standard treatment for the initial management of EGFR-mutant advanced NSCLC [7–10]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
