Yamane et al., (2014) related two studies that demonstrated a high KRAS mutation frequency (45.2%) in serrated adenocarcinoma and suggest that a significant proportion of KRAS mutated CRC originates from serrated polyps and referenced high BRAF mutation frequency (V600E) among serrated carcinomas (82%), emphasizing that this mutation is a specific marker in the serrated pathway. This evidence concerns the gene KRAS and colorectal carcinoma.
