Ectopic expression of miR-142-3p, a novel autophagy regulator, can sensitize HCC cells to sorafenib by silencing autophagy related 5 (ATG5) and autophagy related 16-like 1 (ATG16L1) and, thus, promote autophagy induced by sorafenib [36]. The gene discussed is ATG5; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
