Serum autotaxin levels increase with progression of liver fibrosis caused by various etiologies such as chronic hepatitis C, chronic hepatitis B, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and PBC [11–15], and serum autotaxin level is also associated with pruritus in patients with cholestasis [16]. Here, ENPP2 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
