Lipid droplets were often found in ccRCC cytoplasm (4); therefore, ACAT1 may participate in cholesterol metabolism, similar to cytosolic acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase 2 (ACAT2), which indicated that lipid and fatty acid metabolism were different between kidney cancer and prostate cancer, as well as pancreatic cancer. The gene discussed is ACAT1; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
