TXNRD1 and gastric cancer: And the ROS scavenger NAC was able to nearly completely abrogate the anticancer activity of chaetocin in GC cells (Fig. 4b, c), implying that the cytotoxic effects of chaetocin in GC cells may be primarily due to its inhibition of TRXR-1 and the subsequent excessive ROS accumulation, at least in our in vitro model system.
