BRAF and neoplasm: Copper modulates oxidative phosphorylation and growth of tumors24 and is required for oncogenic BRAF signaling and tumorigenesis.25 We showed that Cu in tumor was significantly higher than in paired normal lung tissues [(1518 ± 82.29) vs (1012 ± 24.46) ng/g, P = 7.4 × 10−8], confirming that this element has a role in tumorigenesis.
