Given the clinical, genetic, biochemical, and functional significance of 16q22.1 genetic variation and the defined functional target gene, ZFP90, we conclude that the risk SNP locus of rs7198799 and its associated pathways are crucial for colorectal carcinogenesis, and targeting this pathway may be pivotal in the prevention or treatment of CRC. Here, ZFP90 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
