DOK1 and melanoma: The scaffolding protein downstream of kinase 1 (Dok1) has been implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation and cytoskeletal rearrangements.21 Dok1 phosphorylation triggers the recruitment of Nck and the formation of filopodia.22 Inhibition of B16F10 mouse melanoma cell migration by dominant‐negative mutants of Dok123 suggests an essential role of this scaffolding protein in cytoskeletal pathways controlling cells motility and invasion.
