BCL2 and breast cancer: Mechanistically, TQ has been shown to trigger apoptosis by increasing ratio of Bax and Bcl‐2 followed by mitochondrial disruption and release of cytochrome C.11 And consequently, TQ induces the activation of caspase 3 and the effector of apoptosis, poly(ADP‐ribose) polymerase (PARP).12 An increase in the Bax/Bcl‐2 ratio in response to TQ has been observed in MDA‐MB231 human breast cancer.
