To investigate whether IL-6R signaling correlates with monocyte expansion and TB-associated pathology in vivo, we performed a comprehensive systems biology analysis integrating several large transcriptomic and proteomic data sets from published cohorts of healthy controls and patients with latent, active and disseminated TB (Berry et al., 2010; Hecker et al., 2013; Naranbhai et al., 2015; Novikov et al., 2011; Scriba et al., 2017) (Supplementary file 2).
