Several studies on HGPS have reported alterations in different signaling pathways, including the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) [12], retinoblastoma protein (pRb) [13], nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) [14] and nuclear factor erythroid 2–related factor 2 (Nrf2) [15,16]. Here, MTOR is linked to Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome.
