Epigenetic silencing of RASAL2 has demonstrated that it can function as a tumor and metastasis suppressor, in breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal cancer (Jia et al. 2017), nasopharyngeal carcinoma, lung cancer, and ovarian cancer (McLaughlin et al. 2013, Feng et al. 2014, Huang et al. 2014, Li & Li 2014, Stefanska et al. 2014, Wang et al. 2015, Yan et al. 2016, Olsen et al. 2017).
