As single polymorphisms were not shown to be strongly linked to AD risk, we aimed at determining the associations between AD risk and TNFα –850T (rs1799724), IL1A –889T (rs1800587), and IL6 –174C (rs1800795, Intron type) polymorphisms in combination with APOEε4, which is still considered to be the strongest genetic risk factor for sporadic AD [27]. Here, TNF is linked to Alzheimer disease.
