Inflammation, steatosis, ballooning, and fibrosis are the features of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and the associated critical bona fide genes such as MCP-1, TNF, TNFR1, TGFβ1, Colα1, αSMA, Timp1, and Hp were significantly enriched in the livers of mice fed an HFD. This evidence concerns the gene HP and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
