Some of these miRNAs have been found to target lupus-related genes, such as Il10, Il17, and dnmt1. It has been reported that the expression level of miR-21, miR-126 and miR148a is observed to be reduced in lupus T cells and they are found to target DNMT1, although they bind to different regions of DNMT1(124, 125). This evidence concerns the gene DNMT1 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
