Additionally the idea of OMA1 levels as one of the significant predictors to clinical progression of breast cancer is supported by the in silico analysis of TCGA breast cancer tumors (cBioPortal database) that revealed an unfavorable risk factor for survival of patients with breast cancer in low-OMA1 mRNA expressing subgroup, in contrast to the high OMA1-expressing subgroup with better survival (Fig. 1). Here, OMA1 is linked to breast cancer.
